Welcome to the BLOG.

I'm Amber, the human behind the big cam. I find joy in photographing people, places, and things. My life motto is "be stubborn about your goals and flexible about your methods." Stubborn I am. Once I set my mind to something I WILL find a way to do it. I do, however, believe we've got to make a few mistakes, pivot, and adapt along the way. Flexibility and experience leads to success, and success looks different for everyone. You'll find me somewhere in between taking things one step at a time (or goin' with the flow, if you will) and strategizing my every move for the next 5 years.

I love to learn which might be why there are very few times you'll find me "bored." For me, there is no arrival point, I always see something new to learn. New skills, different perspectives, you name it. I taught myself photography after my husband gifted me my first DSLR camera in 2016, and I'm still learning new things each and every day.

I'm a wife and a boy mom. My little guy is currently almost 7 weeks old (BRB crying). In my free time, you'll find me in my kitchen, at the gym (aka my basement), spending time outside, or hanging out with family or friends.

Here you'll find a hodgepodge of things: recent sessions, tips and tricks to prepare for your session, recent trips I've taken, life happenings, and more. Maybe eventually I'll get into some of the business sh*t that secretly ruins my life at times or my top 5 mistakes in my first year of business. We'll take off and see where we land.
